I learned about Japanese culture through literature and anime, and I became very interested in Japanese customs and history. So, I decided to study the Japanese language and learn more about Japanese history and U.S.-Japan relations. In college, I studied abroad near Osaka, and I fell in love with the mountainous scenery, traditional architecture, and temples in Hyogo Prefecture.
